Iran troupe performs Moliere’s ‘Scapin’s Deceits’

An adaptation of 17th century famous French playwright Moliere’s ‘Scapin’s Deceits’ has been staged at a theater hall in the Iranian capital city of Tehran.

A free adaptation of Moliere’s ‘Scapin’s Deceits’ is currently being performed at the Mehrab Theater Hall in Tehran.

Moliere’s original play was written in 1671 by the famous 17th century French playwright.

Meanwhile, Iranian theater director Alireza Tarameshlou took it upon himself to modernize the play, titled ‘Deceitful’, for the local Iranian audience.

The story is about two businessmen who force their children to marry each other.

The theater cast includes thespians Peyman Daneshmand, Rasoul Haqshenas, Somayeh Kiadarbandsari, Niloufar Koushamehr, Mostafa Bayat and Amir Mohammad Maleki.

The play will be staged on the Tehran Theater until August 31.
